A SOLICITOR’S firm that specialises in providing services for the elderly and vulnerable today opens a new office in Harrogate and welcomes a new lawyer.

York-based Roche Legal , which has been shortlisted for the Law Society’s Sole Practitioner of the Year award and the Yorkshire Legal Awards Niche Law Firm of the Year, was set up in 2014.

Rachel Roche said: “Our new Harrogate office will be run by Dilys Mushin who knows the area extremely well.

“This is a significant day for Roche Legal and Dilys, who like all our staff, is expert at dealing with the elderly and vulnerable.

“In addition to seeing clients in the new Harrogate office, Dilys is happy to visit clients wherever they are, whether that is in their own home, or in a residential care home or in hospital.”

Dilys qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and has expertise in dealing with probate, Wills, lasting powers of attorney, and applications to the Court of Protection.

Solicitor Mike Willis of Thirsk has joined the firm. He has three decades of experience of helping professionals in England and Wales with their identified civil liability, regulatory and contractual risks, exposures and opportunities.

All members of the Roche Legal team are trained Dementia Friends with Rachel one of two staff members who are Dementia Friend Champions and able to train others.

Roche Legal have also produced two, in a planned series of eight, self-help books designed to demystify the legal process and help clients deal with challenging situations, particularly involving an elderly relative.

The free books are also available to download as eBooks and have been distributed to local Care Homes and GP surgeries.
