FORMER Lord Mayor of York Dave Taylor and his Lady Mayoress Susan Ridley have tied the knot at the city’s register office in Bootham.
Members of the couple’s families flew in from Australia and Ethiopia and travelled from London and Brighton to celebrate the happy event on Thursday.
Cllr Taylor, of Fishergate ward, was the first member of the Green Party to be Lord Mayor in York.
During his term in 2016-2017, the couple worked most days of the year attending events, representing the city and supporting their four charities.
Cllr Taylor also visited China, met the Princess Royal, and even played bass guitar live on stage with Chris Helme.
