A LOCAL pastry chef’s award-winning fare will be the icing on the cake at a charity bash.
Florian Poirot, who has a patisserie in Malton, is providing macarons for the whoopWHOOP! 2018 afternoon tea party, which will be held at the Talbot Hotel in aid of York Against Cancer (YAC).
whoopWHOOP! 2018 was set up by Dee Lynes and Shirley Brewer in memory of their late friend, who benefitted from YAC’s services.
They said they had been touched by the support shown by all the business involved, including the hotel, which has provided the marquee and a raffle prize of a bespoke cookery masterclass worth £1,000. Dee said: “The response from our business community has been amazing. So many are supporting us by donating ingredients or services, like filming or flowers - even a local milkman is providing the milk!”
