RYEDALE Carers Support are appealing for more volunteers to help them combat loneliness and isolation among people living alone in the area.
The charity provides a free volunteer visiting service for carers in need of some time for themselves and older people living on their own who would benefit from a friendly face visiting them on a regular basis.
The service relies on volunteers and the charity’s community development worker Sarah Lally-Marley is keen to encourage people to consider using a small amount of their spare time to make a big difference to the lives of those at risk of loneliness and isolation.
Sarah will be holding drop-in sessions on:
l Monday, September 3: Pickering Library, 10am to noon;
l Wednesday, September 5: Malton Library, 10am to noon;
l Friday, September 7: Helmsley Library, 10am to noon.
You can either pop-in for a chat at the drop-in service. Alternatively, phone the charity on 01751 432288 or visit ryedalecarers.org.uk
