HORSES with difference are ready for the off.

Artist Sue Maud has decorated a series of wooden horses with the help of Norton Joinery for a race night on Friday.

Organised by the Malton and Norton Lions, the event will raise funds for Ryedale Special Families (RSF).

Lion member Rob Davies, who is also the fundraising co-ordinator for RSF, said the Lions had always been very supportive of the charity.

“The race night is the brainchild of Lions member Nick Simpson and it promises to be a brilliant evening,” he said.

“All money raised will go towards RSF’s “Get a move on” campaign to raise an additional £100,000 as deposit towards new premises.”

The race night will be held at Malton School on Friday, August 31, from 7.30pm, and include live fun horse racing, a betting office and cash prizes. There will also be a bar and raffle.

Tickets are £10, to include pie and peas supper. They are available from Chapter Two, Malton Market Place, or from Nick Simpson on 0845 0943636 or 07946 315721.
