THE young winner of the Heworth Scarecrow Trail had been named by organisers.
The trail involved 27 scarecrows in gardens in the York suburb which were visited by hundreds of people over the Bank Holiday weekend, despite poor weather conditions.
The under 13s winner was six-year-old Jensen Wilson with a scarecrow of video game character Mario. His mother Tracey Morris said he was very excited to have won, as he only entered 'for a bit of fun.'
A group of witch scarecrows won the 13s and over section.
