A YOUNG fundraiser from Pickering has handed over more than £1,800 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance after raising the money at her school.
Libby Waterton organised a day of fundraising in which everyone wore yellow - the colour of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance - at Lady Lumley’s and St Joseph’s, her current and former schools, back in April.
She decided to help the charity after she required its life-saving services five times in two years.
Libby suffers from anaphylactic shocks, and has needed helicopter transport on five occasions to Middlesbrough’s James Cook, York and Scarborough hospitals.
As well as fundraising, Libby is appearing on a helicopter rescue TV show to raise awareness of anaphylaxis. She presented the cheque to Kevin Hutchinson of the YAA at their headquarters recently.
