SIR Gary Verity has been hurt in a bike crash.
The chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire tweeted that he had suffered 'bust ribs,' an AC (acromioclavicular) shoulder joint injury, cuts, grazes and nettle rash all down his left side.
Sir Gary, who led the successful campaign for the Grand Départ of the 2014 Tour de France to be held in Yorkshire, tweeted that he had just left A&E, adding: "Hurrah for the NHS."
He also thanked a 'kind couple' in a white Audi estate who stopped to help him after his bike crash, but he did not give any more details as to the circumstances of the accident, such as where it happened.
