SINCE the launch of The Practice Partnership at Clifton Green, the complementary health practice has been going from strength to strength.

The venture, otherwise known as The Clinic on the Green, was launched in new premises in a deal worth £400,000 with funding from Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank.

Now its three directors, Lance Kearon, Elaine Wilson and Russell Bailey, who are all accredited practitioners with business experience, are pitching for the New Business Of The Year title in The Press Business Awards 2007.

They identified a need to re-position complementary healthcare as a "meaningful adjunct to western medicine" and look to work in partnership with conventional medical approaches.

Its wide range of therapies include acupuncture, various therapeutic massage techniques, chiropractic, colon hydrotherapy, counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology and hypnotherapy.

It also offers cognitive behaviour therapy, homeopathy and occupational health. All practitioners are professionally qualified.

Mr Kearon said: "The practice has got off to a great start, exceeding our expectations."

Darren Smith, business banking manager at Alliance & Leicester said: "I look forward to seeing the Practice Partnership continue to develop and aim to play my part in helping the business to prosper."
