REUBEN Barrett and Rob Letts had one aim when they launched a brand new estate agency in April - to become the biggest in York in a year.
Now Coalters Estate Agents is on target to achieve that dream, already claiming to be among the largest of about 35 estate agency offices across the city, based on an external survey of "for sale" signs in York.
It quickly expanded out of its launch office in Fishergate and into 1,200 sq ft of offices in George Hudson Street. In its first three months staff grew from two to 12 and Reuben, managing director, estimates that he will be employing 20 by the end of this year.
No surprises, then, that the venture is targeting both the New Business Of The Year and Growth Business Of The Year titles in The Press Business Awards 2007.
Reuben, 35, a graduate of Insead, one of Europe's top business schools, said he had achieved rapid growth by providing unparalleled customer service. "Every buyer and seller is given the direct phone number of a named sales consultant who will then look after them in moving."
