DOZENS of scarecrows will appear in a York suburb over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Heworth scarecrow trail is being organised by the Friends of Glen Gardens and takes place from 9.30am on Sunday until 5pm on Monday in the gardens of about 28 nearby properties.
This year's trail has a Shakespearean theme, in recognition of the pop-up Shakespeare's Rose Theatre created near Clifford's Tower this summer.
Maps with all the scarecrow locations marked on them will be on sale from a kiosk in Glen Gardens, costing £2.
Visitors will be asked to return after touring the area and vote for their favourite scarecrow.
