THE co-owner of a Scarborough cleaning company who attempted to steal £43,000 in tax has been given a suspended 16 month jail sentence and ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work.
HMRC said Luke Wheeler, 25, of Sweetbecks Close, Eastfield, Scarborough, who ran Condor Cleaning Services, claimed tax refunds for his employees but kept the money for himself in a 'shameless attempt to cheat the tax system.'
