FIREFIGHTERS rescued a cow stuck up to its tail in mud at Clifton Ings.
A North Yorkshire Fire Service spokeswoman said crews were called at about 9.55am and asked to help free the animal.
Two animal rescue teams from the fire service were on the scene, along with crews from York and Acomb, as well as a vet.
The animal was freed safely.
