A NEWLYWED couple who lost a pair of wedding rings on holiday in York say they are amazed they are being returned.

Kris and Vicky Corbley were staying in the city just days after their wedding last week when the rings were lost in the baby changing facilities of Browns.

They appealed on social media and in The Press before returning to the Oldham area with their two young children, but were happy to have been contacted by a York resident who had located the missing jewellery.

Kris said a man from Brighton who was visiting relatives in the area had found the rings and given them to his niece for safekeeping.

He said: "She saw the online appeals and made contact with me direct. We are absolutely made up that the rings are on their way home and that there is a happy ending to what was nearly an expensive lesson learned. It re affirms our belief that there are good and honest people out there

"[WE'RE] just so lucky to get them back I honestly didn't think we would ever see them again the support and assistance has been overwhelming."

Kris and Vicky said they wanted to "thank everyone for their words of support and in helping us spread the message which has ultimately resulted in the rings safe return".
