A LIBRARY has launched a costume exchange to help children and adults who need fancy dress outfits.

Tadcaster Library is inviting people to donate or borrow costumes and all of the outfits will also be listed on a Facebook page.

A spokesman for the organisation said the initiative aims to help people take part in events like World Book Day or Halloween parties, when dressing up can be pricey.

There will be a small fee to borrow items, which will raise funds for the community library, which is run by volunteers. There will be an official launch event on September 29 where all the outfits will be displayed for people to try on and borrow.
