YORKSHIRE Water will start work on Monday on a £2.3 million scheme to improve the quality of water discharged from some of its waste water treatment works.
The company is set to spend a year laying a new three-mile long sewer pipe from Bagby to its waste water treatment works at Sowerby, Thirsk, which is soon to undergo an upgrade too.
The work will allow a sewage plant in Bagby to be decommissioned.
