JAMES Green says a 'winning culture' at Bulls has helped him settle quickly after joining on loan from Castleford.

The towering prop caught the eye with an impressive show in the 58-12 win at London Skolars, scoring a rare try in what was his first start for Bradford.

And the former Hull KR and Leigh player sees similarities in approach between his Super League parent club and his adopted one.

Since his arrival at Odsal, he said: "It’s been brilliant and I can’t fault the club. I got my training kit on day one, I got a playbook on day one. The lads have been fantastic. I feel like I have been here a lot longer than two and half weeks.

"It definitely helps being in a winning team. We’ve got a winning culture here and its been a seamless transition coming from a winning team at Castleford to one here.

"To be honest, the standards that they hold for themselves aren’t much different.

"They expect to win every game and not just that, they expect to put a decent performance in and that has made it a lot easier."

Not being a prolific try-scorer, Green was delighted to open his account so early in his Bulls career.

He said: "It is probably the first try I have scored in about four years! Apparently it gets me off the ‘nudey’ run here, though I don’t know about Cas but I’ll take it."

The 27-year-old got Bulls off the mark in a fast start at the New River Stadium before London came back into the game.

Having raced into a 14-0 lead, he admitted they became blasé for a spell before returning to the script in the second half.

He said: "We got bored in all honesty. We started a bit easier than what we expected but that was credit to ourselves in that we earned that right.

"Everyone got a bit of white-line fever and we were trying things that we had not practised.

"That was the first thing that John (Kear) said to us at half-time – ‘we’ve come here with a game plan so let’s get back to that’ – and that’s why we scored a lot more points in the second half."

Green was joined by Castleford team-mates Tuoyo Egodo and Jy Hitchcox last week as the pair arrived at Odsal on loan until the end of the season.

While Hitchcox remains sidelined with a back injury, Egodo made a fine debut at London.

Green said: "I'm very happy for him. I've seen a bit of him in training but I’ve been out on dual reg (at Halifax) and he’s been at Newcastle so I've not really played with him since the (pre-season) friendlies.

"But from what I saw in the friendlies and on Saturday, he is a real threat on that edge and, given a run of games in this team with some confidence behind him, he is going to be a real threat."
