ROD Stewart's 30th studio album, Blood Red Roses, will bloom on September 28.

Released by Decca Records nearly 50 years to the day he signed his first solo recording contract, it will be available in a 13-track standard version or 16-track deluxe edition, led by the single Didn't I, Stewart's account of the damage drugs can do from a parent's point of view.

His first album since 2015's Another Country combines ten originals with three covers, with Stewart's songwriting being marked by his trademark combination of poignant observation, self-reflective introspection and playful swagger.

"I always think I make albums for a few friends and this record has that intimacy," says 73-year-old Sir Rod. "Sincerity and honesty go a long way in life and the same is true in song-writing."

Co-produced by Stewart's long-term collaborator Kevin Savigar, Blood Red Roses moves from acoustic folk through Motown-tinged R&B to unadulterated rock'n'roll and soulful ballads. The track listing is: Look In Her Eyes; Hole In My Heart; Farewell; Didn’t I; Blood Red Roses; Grace; Give Me Love; Rest Of My Life; Rollin' & Tumblin'; Julia; Honey Gold; Vegas Shuffle and Cold Old London; the deluxe bonus tracks are Who Designed The Snowflake, It Was A Very Good Year and I Don't Want To Get Married.
