CHILDREN at a York primary school have recorded an "inspiring and heart-warming" song to celebrate their school motto - Better Never Stops.

Pupils at Clifton Green Primary School began working on the track three months ago and wrote the lyrics, tune and recorded the video with the help of music company Class Dynamix.

And the song has already racked up hundreds of likes after being posted on the school's Facebook page at the end of term.

John Hattam, community liaison officer at Clifton Green Primary School, said: "We wanted to create something that encapsulated what we are about as a school - something that represents us and our values.

"They are quite meaningful lyrics and don't just apply to the classroom so hopefully they will inspire other people too.

"All the children were involved in writing the song, singing it and filming the video.

"Everybody is really proud of it and people have been really positive about it, it's heart-warming and inspiring."

He added that the school is keen to promote music, art and sports as well as academic subjects to ensure pupils have a well-rounded education.

Mr Hattam said: "We like to ensure our curriculum is very varied, we are keen for pupils to have a wide range of opportunities to experience different topics.

"We also felt it was important to showcase York in the video because we feel we are part of a historic and inspiring city, which is all on our doorstep. It's important to embrace our city."
