AN ELDERLY woman was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in the living room of a property in Selby, which is believed to have been caused by a dropped cigarette.
Crews were called to the incident at 8.55am on Sunday.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire fire service said: "Fire was out on arrival and is believed to have been caused by a dropped cigarette."
Crews administered oxygen to the 86-year-old woman at the property and she was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
