FIVE fire engines attended reports of smoke coming from a building in central York.
A member of staff at New Look on Blake Street called the fire service at 3.11pm today after the alarm went off due to smoke inside the building.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "It's a three storey building so we sent three fire engines, an aerial appliance and platform. We searched through the building and found an electrical circuit that had burnt out and it put a lot of smoke into the building."
Crews are still at the scene, but are expected to leave shortly.
