FREE sexual health drop-in sessions are being held at Spark:York.
Kate Allen, director of the Polarized Youth Group, is holding the ‘Let’s Talk Sex’ sessions from 7.30pm to 10pm on Wednesdays in July at the new business start-up and social space based in shipping containers on Piccadilly.
She is offering basic sexual health advice, chlamydia testing, condoms, lubricants and sanitary products, all for free.
Kate said: “Let’s Talk Sex is being run across every Wednesday in July, from which we would like to learn lessons and use the experience to see which groups have benefitted the most from the service, or possibly more importantly, who the sessions failed to reach. The service will be resumed after September, offering regular sessions that act as an extension to YorSexualHealth and other partner organisations. The sessions hope to make sexual health support and testing more accessible to young people in York providing a friendly, confidential and efficient drop in.”
The aim of the sessions is to support YorSexualHealth as a facilitator of the Condom Distribution Scheme.
Polarized Youth is a new voluntary organisation, offering support and guidance to young people between the ages of 13-19.
