HEALTH commissioners in the York area have welcomed an upgrade in their official performance rating - from 'inadequate' to 'requires improvement.'
Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group's (CCG) rating has been published by NHS England.
The CCG said its evidence-based annual assessment was conducted by local NHS England teams and moderated regionally and nationally, and focussed on cancer, mental health, dementia, clinical measures, finance and quality of leadership.
"The rating is based on improved performance delivery and demonstrates significant improvement in clinical performance indicators," it said.
"NHS England has also highlighted the stabilisation of the local system’s financial position in 2017-18 and the role of the strong, clinically-led executive team that is now in place and delivering this improvement."
The CCG’s clinical chair Dr Nigel Wells said it was transforming acute services, strengthening primary care and improving mental health services.
