A CAR was stolen after a property was broken into in a North Yorkshire village while the residents were inside.
North Yorkshire Police said the burglary happened overnight on Monday at a property on Pasture Avenue, Sherburn in Elmet.
Keys to a Volkswagen Golf were taken from inside and the car was stolen. West Yorkshire Police contacted North Yorkshire Police at around 4.20am on Tuesday after recovering the car, which had been abandoned in Bradford after a pursuit. Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Pasture Lane area of Sherburn is asked to phone North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12180124230.
