BLOOMIN’ Art, a special exhibition of flora in art, is the Village Gallery contribution to York’s Bloom! festival.

Simon Main's gallery, in Colliergate, is showing original art by contemporary Yorkshire artists, such as Judy Burnett's collages, Julie Lightburn's acrylics, Malcolm Ludvigsen's oils, Rebecca Mason's batiks, Shannon Morgan's oil paintings and Simon Wilcox’s ink illustrations.

"There are less contemporary 19th and early 20th century works too and it’s not all 2D pictures," says Simon. "We have a special show of floral-themed ceramics by Royal Crown Derby and Moorcroft, glass by Lalique and jewellery, including specially commissioned pieces by contemporary jewellery designer Paul Allinson.
