YORK'S health bosses are holding a 1940s themed celebration of the NHS tomorrow and are inviting people to join in.

The Vale of York CCG is marking the 70th birthday of the NHS with a vintage celebration - including food, music and other attractions in the reception at West Offices on Station Rise. The party runs from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday, July 5 with a giant NHS70 birthday card which has been touring the area for people to sign.

Clinical chairman Dr Nigel Wells said: "Our 1940s-themed event promises to be a wonderful occasion, and we would like members of the public to join us at the event to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.

"There will be food, music and many more attractions to enjoy, so I encourage all people from the Vale of York to come along to West Offices between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday 5 July and celebrate the most wonderful institution that is the NHS."
