MUSIC, dance, food and drink...and not a drunken reveller in sight.
Welcome to the latest Fossgate Festival, offering cafes, bars, stalls and free live music and dancing in the traffic-free street - just the tonic for the city centre after last night's shenanigans.
Amongst the entertainment on offer was music by the Grand Old Uke of York and dancing by the Karuna Tribal Bellydance group.
The festivals run throughout the summer, but organiser Zoe Plummer, from Ambiente Tapas and Fossgate Traders, said today's event had enjoyed 'perfect weather,' with musicians and dancers, mostly local, playing for slots of either 30 minutes or an hour.
She estimated 2,000 people would visit the street during today, delivering extra business for traders, many of whom are small independents. "It's wonderful," she said.
Today's festival continues until 7pm but it you've missed it, two more will be held on this year, Sundays August 5 and September 2.
