A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered serious injuries in a crash which has closed a York road this weekend.
North Yorkshire Police are currently at the scene in Wheldrake Lane, near Escrick, after the crash between a Vauxhall Vectra and a Ducati motorbike at about 2.55pm.
The Press understands the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and paramedics were also called to the scene.
The motorbike rider suffered serious injuries to his legs and has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary.
The road was closed to allow the Collision Investigation Team to carry out enquiries to determine the circumstances around the incident and for the vehicles to be recovered. The road reopened at just after 7pm.
Anyone who saw the crash, or either vehicle prior to the collision is urged to phone police on 101 quoting job 305 of Sunday, June 24.
