SIX former York City Clubman of the Year winners will take part in a Legends match at Tadcaster Albion on Sunday, August 5.

The event, organised by City’s Supporters’ Trust, will see ex-Billy Fenton Memorial Trophy holders Steve Bushell, Michael Ingham, Scott Kerr, David McGurk, Andy McMillan and Steve Tutill represent their old club against an All Star XI.

Also confirmed for the fundraising contest are fellow past Minstermen Paddy Atkinson, Andy Bishop, Tony Canham, Iain Dunn, Andy Ferrell, Christian Fox, Russ Howarth, Darren Kelly, Jamie Reed, Shaun Reid, Chris Smith and Darren Williams.

The match will form part of a wider Family Fun Day at the i2i Stadium that will include several children’s fairground rides, craft stalls and a fully-licensed bar, with doors opening at 12:30pm and activities continuing into the early evening.

Admission for the match and fun day will be £5 for adults and £2 for under-16 children or £10 for a family of four.

With demand expected to be high, fans are advised to buy tickets in advance by visiting www.ycst.org.uk/legends-match

Subject to availability, tickets will also be available on the day.

Proceeds will be split between the Supporters’ Trust and The Offside Trust – an organisation that aims to combat child abuse in sport and, commenting on his involvement, the captain of City’s 2011/12 double-Wembley winning squad Kerr said: “I’m really pleased to be taking part in the forthcoming Legends game, as it will be great to catch up with the lads I played with and also meet those taking part from the years before I played at such a special football club.

“It’s also great to help support the York City Supporters Trust and

The Offside Trust. The Supporters’ Trust are working hard to protect the fans’

interests at the club and The Offside Trust are helping many of those who we have

shared dressing rooms with over the years who suffered terrible acts of abuse - so

the day is all in aid of two excellent organisations.

“I’m really looking forward to it and I hope that everyone turns out to make it a fantastic occasion.”

Details of the All Star XI side are yet to be released.
