A DRIVER who was arrested after North Yorkshire Police used a stinger to stop their vehicle has been charged with dangerous driving.
Officers from the Roads Policing Group chased the vehicle for about 25 minutes after it allegedly failed to stop on the A64 near Fulford in the early hours of Monday. The police helicopter was also involved in the pursuit, and the vehicle was stopped near Monk Fryston.
Sergeant Paul Cording said one person was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance, and later tested positive for cocaine.
On Tuesday, police confirmed a 40-year-old man had been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, driving whilst disqualified and without insurance, and with taking without consent, and will appear in court at a later date.
