A SURGEON who works at a hospital in North Yorkshire has been recognised in a national poll.

Professor Nick London, who works at the BMI The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate, was highlighted in the national Good Doctors Guide, published by a national newspaper this week.

Prof London was nominated in the guide by his peers and consultants based on who they would trust for their own care and the care of their loved ones.

Professor London specialises in partial and total knee replacement surgery and lectures on knee surgery procedures worldwide.

He said: "It is a great honour to have been recognised by my colleagues in this way. However, the success of knee replacement surgery depends on the whole hospital team and I am very fortunate to work with excellent colleagues at the Yorkshire Knee Clinic and at BMI The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate who help deliver an exceptional experience for patients."

Debbie Dobbs, executive director at the hospital, said: "Professor London’s endorsement by his peers nationally is also reflected by the reaction that we receive from patients, who appreciate his manner and extraordinary skill as a doctor and a surgeon. We are proud to have him at The Duchy, and are proud of the difference that he is making for patients and his colleagues."
