A MAJOR North Yorkshire road will stay closed over the weekend after ground movement was spotted on the hillside.
The A59 at Kex Gill - which is notorious for landslips - has been closed since Wednesday, May 30, and specialists have been checking the site. The county council has confirmed the road needs to stayed closed for safety reasons, pending more investigations next week. A diversion route uses the A65, A660, A658 and A61 via Ilkley and Otley.
