GARROWBY Hill on the A166 will be closed overnight to westbound traffic for the next five weeks.
It is part of a £1.9 million improvement project for the road.
The closures begin on Monday night and will run from 7pm until 6am Monday to Friday for five weeks, weather permitting. Eastbound traffic will not be affected.
A diversion to York will run via the B1248 Wetwang to Bainton, then the A614 to Shiptonthorpe and the A1079 to York.
