BREWERY chairman Humphrey Smith and Samuel Smith Old Brewery have pleaded guilty to failing to provide financial details to The Pensions Regulator.
The statutory body needed the information as part of an investigation into whether the Tadcaster business could support some of its final salary pension schemes.
It failed to get the information by the set deadline and started a prosecution. The enquiry was sparked by the schemes’ 2015 valuation.
Smith and Samuel Smith Old Brewery will be sentenced by Brighton magistrates on June 6.
The regulator said it now had the information.
