TWO apprentices will find it easier to repair homes thanks to a social housing group.
Efficiency North has handed over new toolkits to electrician apprentice Edward Wake and plumbing apprentice Tom Wilcock.
Both work for Selby District Council repairing tenant houses four days a week and study their trade at Selby College one day a week.
Paul Mitchell, social value mnager from Efficiency North, said: “We were only too pleased to be able to support two local residents that we know will have a positive and productive experience within the maintenance team in Selby.
“These toolkits are to help make sure that they are fully prepared to carry out their daily tasks.
“We’ll also be looking at other ways of supporting them too, including access to our health and wellbeing scheme and travel allowance, so we’ll be in regular contact with them both to ensure that they’re progressing with their qualification.”
