LEARN the secrets of Indian cooking at an all-day workshop in York.
Sharmini Thomas, who has taught Indian cookery for the past 20 years in York, is hosting a hands-on workshop at Joseph Rowntree School, York, on Thursday, May 31, from 10am-4pm.
Students will learn and prepare two dishes for lunch ¬ - a side dish, and rice dish ¬- as well as master a starter with a chutney.
Sharmini said: “You will learn to cook an award-winning dish which received first prize at the ‘Curry Vision Competition’. It will be suitable for all curry lovers, whether non-vegetarian, vegetarian, pescatarian, vegan or gluten free.”
The day will kick-off with an introduction to spices and include step-by-step guidance and demonstrations.
Sharmini added: “You will learn that the secret to cooking a perfect dish is understanding the sequence of cooking by identifying the cooked aroma at each stage to obtain the right colour, texture and flavour of the curry.”
The price of the workshop is £140, and the first five customers to book will receive an apron worth £15.
To book, visit sharmini.co.uk or telephone 0794 160 8487.
