Yorkshire traffic officers have released road closures for this year’s Tour de Yorkshire.

All of the third stage on Saturday May 5 which starts in Richmond and some of the final stage on Sunday May 6, which includes Masham and Pateley Bridge, will be in the county.

Among the road closures is Cote de Silpho near Scarborough , which the cyclists will climb between 4pm and 5pm on Saturday 5 May en route to that day’s finish in Scarborough itself.. It will be closed to traffic from 1pm.

Traffic is likely to be congested in Scarborough town centre for most of the Saturday afternoon, and everyone is asked to avoid the A165 between Valley Bridge and Queen Margaret’s Road.

Details of road closures in the county on both days are on North Yorkshire County Council’s website.

The county council warns that parking may be limited near the route, especially at Filey sea front on the Saturday.

Both the men’s and women’s races start in Beverley on Thursday May 3. The men’s is for four days and the women’s for two.
