A 16th CENTURY coaching inn in North Yorkshire with a sale price of £has been sold.
The Crown Inn, in the village of Roecliffe, was sold freehold off an asking price of £1,250,000.
Previous owners Karl and Amanda Mainey had taken over the inn when it was in a sad state of repair and transformed it into an award-winning, AA five-star Luxury Rated inn with four luxurious letting rooms, a Cask Marque accreditation and an outstanding reputation for its food.
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co completed the sale.
The couple said they were leaving "with a heavy heart" after 11 years.
"We aren’t going far and are now focussing our attention on The Wild Swan, Minskip which we bought a while ago and had been running alongside The Crown."
The new owners are Joe and Sarah Stuart.
