A TRIATHLETE from York has completed the Paris Marathon in four hours and 11 minutes as he prepares for the Hamburg Ironman in July.
Stephen Phillips, 55, from the Walmgate area, who works at City of York Council’s recycling department at Hazel Court, ran in the French capital in memory of his father Brian, 82, of Osbaldwick, who recently died.
He said: "The weather was extremely hot which made it a little more difficult for running in, but it all made a great atmosphere and I'm pleased I could run it in my father's memory, which I think helped me round the course."
Stephen, who will be accompanied at the Ironman by John Bevan, from Barlby, Selby, is raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.
