A COMMUNITY choir is inviting people to attend its ‘Come and Sing’ day in aid of charity this weekend.

Taking place on Saturday at All Saints’ Church in Pocklington, Stamford Bridge Singers will spend the day learning and singing coronation anthems by composers Hubert Parry, George Frideric Handel and William Boyce.

There are still some places left for anyone who would like to take part in the event with the choir.

Proceeds from the day will go to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, which the choir is supporting throughout 2018 and 2019.

The event will start at 10am and is due to finish with a short concert performance at 4.15pm.

There are six coronation anthems to be learned and sung on the day.

All six anthems will be bound together in a booklet which will be provided on the day and can be taken home as a souvenir.

The cost is included in the price of the ticket.

Alternatively the cost for the full day will be £12 and £5 for students.
