YORK MP Rachael Maskell is holding a public meeting on Sunday to discuss the situation in Syria.

The York Central MP has arranged the meeting for anyone who lives in her constituency to talk about the escalating situation.

It will take place on Sunday, April 15 from 5.15pm to 7.15pm at St Clements Hall, Nunthorpe Road, YO23 1BW.

She will give a brief overview of her view of the conflict and will listen to her constituents' views on this.

Members of the public can drop in to the event at any time.

Ms Maskell said: "This is a very worrying time. It’s important that people are able to make their views known and their representatives in Parliament listen before taking decisions as to the best way forward."

She said she would respond to letters and emails from anyone who cannot go to the meeting.
