HOAX 'bomb' threats have been sent to schools across York and North Yorkshire.
Police said a number of schools received the message by email this morning.
They added that the threats are not believed to be credible.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We are aware of a malicious hoax email to schools in the force area and wider UK this morning, April 13.
“Enquiries continue to establish the facts and forces are working together to investigate who is responsible.
“Anyone who has received an email of this nature should not open it or click on any links contained within it.
“Police take hoaxes extremely seriously. They divert police resources and cause disruption and alarm to the public.
“Anyone with information should contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
