ARTWORKS by members of a local society will be on display for free this week.

The Arts Society Hambleton is showcasing members’ work in a Spring ArtsFest, which runs from April 10 to 14, at Rural Arts in Thirsk.

The exhibition is part of the society’s programme to celebrate The Arts Society's 50 years of dedication to the fine and decorative arts, and is an opportunity to see work by some regional talent.

The Hambleton group was formed in 1990 as Hambleton Decorative and Fine Arts Society, but became The Arts Society Hambleton in September 2017, following the change of name by the national organisation, and has about 230 members from all around North Yorkshire.

The exhibition includes paintings in a variety of media, prints, photography and crafts with more than seventy exhibits from 17 artists.

Entry is free of charge, and the exhibition runs between 10am and 4pm.
