TWO drivers had a lucky escape after walking away from a dramatic crash with only minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the collision, which took place on the A61 Harrogate Road, Dunkeswick, close to the junction with Weeton Lane on March 11 at about 7.30am.
Officers said a small red car, a small silver hatchback and a grey Ford Focus were travelling south on the road towards Harewood.
A maroon Vauxhall Vectra was travelling in the opposite direction.
Police believe the silver car overtook the small red car. The maroon Vauxhall Vectra then crashed into the grey Ford Focus.
The silver car and the small red car both failed to stop after the collision.
The Vectra and the Focus were both severely damaged but miraculously the drivers escaped with minor injuries.
Both went to hospital but were discharged the next day.
Officers are keen to speak to the drivers of the red and silver cars as well as anyone else who witnessed the crash.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, select option two, and ask for Rob Roberts or email Rob.Roberts@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk quoting reference number 12180041868.
