A MAN has been charged with murder by North Yorkshire Police, and police have released the identity of a woman killed in a village between York and Selby.
Angela Rider, 51, was found dead at a house in Cawood in the early hours of Monday.
In a joint statement from her daughter Sara Rider, her mother Wendy Brown and her sister Tracy Mills said they had suffered the "most devastating loss".
They said: "Angela was the most beautiful, fantastic mum, a wonderful daughter and the best sister anyone could have wished for."
A 49-year-old man was arrested at just before 2am on Monday in Hawkshead, Cumbria, about 150 miles from Cawood.
North Yorkshire Police said he was charged with murder on Tuesday evening and is due in court on Wednesday.
