SWINGROWERS, a four-piece jazz, hip-hop, electronica and gypsy-swing band from Palermo, Sicily, play a headline show at Fibbers in York tomorrow.
The line-up of Loredana Grimaudo, vocals, Roberto Costa, production, Alessio Costagliola, guitar, and Ciro Pusateri, saxophone, will be promoting their third album, Outsidein, released on the Freshly Squeezed Music label on February 23.
The new record represents a turning point for SwinGrowers as it features 100 per cent original compositions and zero samples.
Their 2012 debut, Swing'Growers, was largely a sample-based affair that was to eventually characterise the electro swing genre. The 2014 follow-up, Remote, boasted the singles That's Right! and Midnight, each drawing multi-million views on YouTube.
SwinGrowere have created remixes for Caro Emerald and Millie Smalls and toured North America, Europe, Japan and India, as well as performing at hundreds of festivals around the world.
