NORTH and East Yorkshire residents may have the clue that will enable police to find the family of a deceased charity volunteer.
Colin Meggitt died at his home in Windsor Garth, Acomb. He was 46.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police have been unable to tell his next of kin or his family because they do not know who they are.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for help from the general public, especially in North and East Yorkshire.
A police spokesman said: “It is believed that Mr Meggitt volunteered at the Scope charity shop in Acomb.
“He may also have lived in or around Pocklington at some point prior to 2008.”
He urged anyone who had any information about Mr Meggitt or his family to contact the police coroner’s office on 01609 643181.
