A TOUR guide who turned her broken leg into a prop and did tours from her wheelchair has been nominated for an award.

Alicia Stabler, also known as Mad Alice, leads the Bloody Tour of York to uncover 2,000 years of gruesome history and has made the final of the Tourism Superstar competition.

Alicia, pictured, set up her tour five years ago, but after breaking her leg in September 2017 and being unable to walk for over three months, she decided to conduct tours from her wheelchair and added another character into the tour who could push her around.

Alicia said: “The quack plague doctor (in real life good friends and family of mine) came to the rescue. We thought it would be even more fun to carry a prop of my broken leg around in a basket too.”

Vote for Alice online here before March 14.
