THREE York tourist attractions have scored prestigious accolades from the country's tourism board.
The Henry VII Experience at Micklegate Bar, Jorvik Viking Centre and York Dungeons have all got ‘attractions accolades’ by Visit England, who today announced winners in the 2017 scheme.
Andrew Stokes, VisitEngland's director said: "These attractions offer a warm welcome, unique story-telling, high quality food and drink and unparalleled customer service and rightly deserve these accolades."
They give visitors amazing experiences and create reasons to travel the country, increasing the economic benefits of tourism, he added.
The Henry VII experience received the "Hidden Gem" award, while the Jorvik Viking Centre and York Dungeon have both been given an accolade for "Best Told Story".
Introduced in 2014, the accolades go to members of the Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, and include the Welcome accolade, Hidden Gem, Best Told Story, Quality Food and Drink and the Gold for all-round top-scoring attractions - which in Yorkshire went to RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum in Whitby.
