YORK Explore Library is hosting a special event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of women winning the right to vote.
On Saturday, from 2pm to 3.30pm, suffrage historian Jill Liddington will be speaking in the library about suffragists and suffragettes across Yorkshire, with a special focus on York itself, and asking what was special about the city's Votes for Women campaign. Tickets cost £6 or £5 with a York Card. Book at www.yortime.org.uk/Events.York.
